CARLISLE United visit Scarborough for a Nationwide Conference clash tomorrow which North Yorkshire Police have now decided need not be all ticket.

Fans can pay on the day to see if the stuttering Cumbrians can take another step towards regaining their Football League status at the expense of shot-shy Boro.

Home player Paul Foot is suspended and it seems likely that Scarborough coach Nicky Henry must content himself with juggling his existing squad to try to stop his side's recent decline.

He is still looking for an experienced striker to boost his side, which has lost their last three games.

Henry lost out in his efforts to get former front-runner Darryn Stamp to move from Chester City as the striker has linked up with Stevenage Borough in a deal which few Conference clubs could match.

Henry said: "It's the first time it has happened to me while I have been in charge and we shall be going flat out to get the result against Carlisle - whether or not we have new faces in the squad.

"It's a gamble getting the right man in but we do have some money on one side and it is up to me to get in a striker with a proven pedigree. But having lost out on Stamp, who is the sort of player I want, the search goes on."

Carlisle are seeking their first Conference win of 2005. They have not won a league match since defeating Woking on December 18.

They lost 1-0 at Crawley last time out, following draws against Morecambe (twice) and Aldershot Town.

Last Saturday's game against Leigh RMI, York City's opponents tomorrow, at Gretna was postponed because of frost. Carlisle were unable to use their Brunton park home because of recent floods in the area.

SCARBOROUGH: Keen, Lyth, Baker, Heineman, Coulson, Kerr, Thompson, Pounder, Walker, Hackworth, Hotte, Gilroy, Nicholson, Senior, Ryan, Redfearn.
