IN response to Bryan R Lawson's letter about the BBC children's show Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow (January 21), how come you have never seen anything like this before?
Were you never allowed to watch The Keystone Cops or Laurel And Hardy or Harold Lloyd or The Monkees or The Banana Splits or Tiswas when you were a kid?
This form of entertainment is called slapstick, and anybody who has been to a pantomime should be familiar with it.
The BBC broadcasts many excellent shows for children, including Blue Peter.
Each one of them has a role to play, some informative, some thought provoking and some, like Dick And Dom, just pure entertainment.
Our children have a hard enough time coping with school work, homework etc. Why can't we let them go a little bit daft now and again?
My kids love Dick And Dom and I'm pretty sure they won't turn into imbeciles because I let them watch it.
Just as a final note, to all those fellow Dick and Dommers out there I have just one thing to say - BOGIES!
