I have tried in the past to warn readers about the dangers of the party system which gives a government a majority for five long years to do as it pleases, against which the individual is helpless.

The latest assault on our liberty from a "democratic" government is the plan of the Lord Chancellor (someone supposed to uphold justice) to interfere with the secret deliberations of juries.

The jury is the last bastion of the people in making a political decision as to whether a law is just or not, irrespective of the facts of the case.

So, while any party government can be beguiling the voters with one policy it can be acting un-noticed and to their detriment elsewhere.
