I WOULD like to echo the comments of Les Marsh, of Clifton Planning Panel, on the issue of Burton Croft, the former home of J B Morrell (January 22).
A lot of people are extremely disappointed at Barratt York's decision to demolish this piece of York's heritage.
It is almost an insult that they are now in consultation with York Conservation Trust to place a plaque on the new development. Perhaps the council would like to put one alongside it immortalising the name of the man who apparently said it would be a shame to see it demolished, then used his casting vote to sanction the demise of the said building, ie Liberal Democrat Councillor
Mr K A Roworth,
Reighton Avenue,
York.
