All the main angling match action last weekend centered on the Leeds-controlled sections of the Ouse above York.

On Saturday, Phil Austin topped the 54-peg Millbridge Fisheries series from peg 219 on the bungalows section at Hunters Lodge.

Fishing a caster feeder with worm as bait, he netted a trio of big perch plus a bream of 6lbs for his 9lb 3oz bag.

The fish hadn't moved far the following day when another field of 54 contested the Hirst Tackle open.

John Cyrowski (Barlby Village Stores) had the best weight for a good while from the Ouse on Sunday when he topped the 54-pegger from bungalows peg 221.

His neighbour on the hot peg 220, Tony Earnshaw (Hirst Tackle), had a bream early on and John prepared himself for a severe neck-ache. The bream had other ideas and went swim-about in the later stages, allowing John to bag six on caster feeder in the last hour for a winning 31lb 5oz. Tony never had another bite and ended on 6lb 15oz

Jim Jordan had the best none bream-based net with a fine 5lb 2oz of roach taken on long rod and maggot from the bottom of the Linton section.
