THE RJF Homes Beckett Football League will provide three of the four Scarborough and District FA Junior Cup semi-finalists for the first time following Kirkdale's 1-0 win over Edgehill Reserves.

Aislaby and Thornton-le-Dale had already reached that stage, with Scarborough League side Duchess the only team trying to prevent a second successive all-Beckett League final.

Phil Charlton was Kirkdale's match-winner with a penalty after a foul on Uhi Ehima.

Paul Downes' two second-half goals saw Union Rovers reach the Ryedale Hospital Cup third round with a 4-2 win over Rosedale. Richard Abbey and Chris Cooke also netted as Rovers always led, John Tindal and Ken Weatherill replying.

Kirkbymoorside Reserves beat Sinnington 3-1 to reach the fifth round. Andrew Ferguson won and scored a penalty and, although Dan Harland equalised with a 20-yard free-kick, Jason Pearson netted his first senior goal and Rob McDermid also scored.

Black Swan Pickering came from behind to beat Duncombe Park 2-1 after extra time.

Jack Coleman scored after 12 minutes of his first game of the season but Tom Marley levelled and Marc Dobson scored the winner from the spot after Paul Mann - who ironically missed two penalties in normal time, the second saved by Andy Caine - had been fouled.

Jeff Quilter equalised ten seconds from time as Thornton-le-Dale drew 1-1 in the first division with Heslerton, for whom Alex Garthwaite scored.

Ryedale Sports Club lost their unbeaten second division record 3-1 at Ampleforth. Matt Petch (penalty), Dave Wallinger and Richard Chilton scored for the victors, Ben Allan replying late on.

Leaders Slingsby trailed to a Russell Burn goal but came back through Paul Cook (2) and Darren Dyer to beat Coxwold.

Andy Parkinson got the winner with two minutes left as three goals in the last half-hour saw Bagby and Balk come from two Jason High strikes behind to beat Old Malton 3rds. Rob Metcalfe and an own goal had levelled.

Substitute John Allcock brought St Clement's WMC level against Carlton but then missed a late penalty as they drew 3-3. Sean Hornby and Fraser Russell had put St Clement's 2-0 up with Danny Wood and two Iain McKeown penalties turning it round.
