SCARBOROUGH coach Nicky Henry is taking the opportunity to give squad players a chance to prove that they can solve the club's striking problem for the testing trip to Morecambe in the Gladwish Land Sales Conference League Cup tonight.
Griff Jones, formerly of Barnsley, will partner on-loan Gareth Grant in attack while teenage prospect Michael Coulson will make his full debut for the club in a left-sided role.
Henry said: "It is a chance for me to have a look at other lads because to be honest I have lost patience with some players who I have stuck by all season. If some of these lads do a job tonight then they will certainly be in contention for the visit of Carlisle on Saturday."
David Pounder, who has been on the fringes of the team all season will play on the left side of midfield while Nick Heinemann, who has impressed in training, will play in defence.
Peter Keen will play his first game in goal since damaging a shoulder in October.
Scarborough: Keen, Lyth, Foot, Baker, Heineman, Coulson, Kerr, Thompson, Pounder, Grant, Jones. Subs from Walker, Hackworth, Hotte, Gilroy, Nicholson, Senior.
There will be a sense of dj vu at Wetherby Road tonight when Harrogate Town host Armthorpe Welfare in the second round of the West Riding County Cup for the second time.
Town won the original tie 10-0 but the fixture was ordered to be replayed because Danny Holland, who is now a fully-signed player but was on-loan at the time and scored four goals, was ineligible under new rules.
Pickering Town will be looking to get over their FA Vase exit when Brodsworth Welfare visit in Northern Counties East League premier division action, while Goole travel to Sheffield for a crucial third versus fourth encounter.
