IT IS easy to see why people sometimes believe justice has gone haywire.
A great-grandmother from the Clifton area of York suffers an horrific attack which culminates in having her face stamped on. Her attacker, thankfully, is caught and given a suitably stiff sentence.
But now a judge at the Criminal Appeal Court in London has cut two years from the nine-year sentence handed down to Simon Watts.
Meanwhile Jean Simpson is still scared to go out, suffers headaches and has lost all her confidence. Something is badly wrong here.
