ANXIOUS to repeat its success with parking charges, City of York Council has come up with an even wackier idea.
Replace the 24-hour public taxi rank at the railway station with space in a private car park, but exclude the taxis from the car park during busy times morning and afternoon.
Doesn't the council realise that is when we want access to a taxi?
Try telling a visitor that reducing taxi provision improves their journey. Time for the proverbial monkey and typewriter to produce an improvement to the madness laughingly described as a transport strategy.
