CITY goalkeeper Chris Porter's vital injury-time save from Jim Bentley's powerful header was likened to Gordon Banks' legendary 1970 World Cup stop from Pele.
Said caretaker boss Viv Busby: "Ports made a couple of fantastic saves - one that was out of this world and reminded me of Gordon Banks.
"It was great to get a clean sheet and I thought we also defended in numbers excellently."
Rob Constable earned further plaudits for his attitude in the Minstermen midfield on his debut after a one-month loan switch from Championship side Leeds United.
Busby added: "I got to the dressing-room at one o'clock before the game and he was already there.
"He said to me 'I hate this bit because all I want to do is get on the pitch and play'.
"He's got a big smile on his face now and I love that."
