BERNARD Lyne - you made my day ('Bright side of life', Letters, January 19). Let them carry on moaning, I have two baker's dozens that make me happy:
Waking up in the morning
My dogs wagging their tails
My brisk walk to work in Museum Street
My family spoiling me rotten
Being healthy and content
Living in my lovely house
A glass of wine
Sunrise over Knavesmire
Monday nights listening to Frank Wappit with my blind friend John Thomas
Heated towel rail and warm towels
Memories of my childhood 60 years ago
Knowing the Lord cares for me
Pay Day
A cup of Ringtons tea
Blackbirds on my windowsill waiting for sultanas
My trousers still fitting me after Christmas fare
My colleagues' friendly faces
Visits from neighbours and friends
Working in my lovely garden
Making clippie mats
Liberty hankies
Bacon butties
Starlit sky
Two for the price of one
Dandelions in the hedgerows
Having naturally curly hair.
What makes me unhappy? Bloomin' nothing.
Helen Harris,
Hunters Way,
Dringhouses, York.
