LEEDS United reserve Rob Constable is expected to make his full York City debut against Morecambe tomorrow after agreeing a one-month loan deal.
But City striker-turned-midfielder Lev Yalcin could be leaving KitKat Crescent depending on the success of a week-long trial at League Two leaders Yeovil.
Constable, 19, can play at centre back but is likely to line up alongside Darren Dunning in the Minstermen's midfield against Morecambe because of Byron Webster's ankle injury.
Caretaker boss Viv Busby would also prefer the experienced Paul Groves to play in defence rather than return to the middle of the park.
Constable has yet to break into the first team at Elland Road but comes with a glowing reference from ex-City midfielder Steve Agnew, who is now in charge of Leeds' reserves.
Busby has watched Constable play in Leeds' last two reserve matches and said: "He's full of enthusiasm and prefers playing in midfield to centre back. He's a strong lad and will bolster us in that department."
Turkish youth international Yalcin should learn tonight whether Somerset-based Yeovil would like to further their interest in him.
Otherwise, he could be in contention for a place on the bench against the Shrimpers, against whom he scored his only senior goal back in October.
Busby said: "Lev's agent asked me three weeks ago if it would be OK for him to view a few clubs who are interested in him. I said I wouldn't stand in anybody's way and if somebody wanted to take him the club could benefit by getting some money.
"We don't really want him to go and he was tremendous in midfield during the last reserve game he played. Ideally, we would like to nurture him more because he could be a good asset to the club.
"I don't know whether he'd fancy moving six hours away from home anyway. The problem with agents is they can sometimes unsettle players as well as fix them up with decent deals."
Busby looks set to keep faith with front men Andy Bishop and Paul Robinson against Morecambe despite dragging both strikers off after an hour against Burton Albion on Saturday and then forcing the pair to play in Monday night's 3-1 North Riding Cup defeat against Middlesbrough.
Bishop scored City's consolation in that match and Busby said: "I got a great response from them and if they can wind themselves up for reserve matches they should have no problem in first-team games."
