SO the York City Council has made its decision.
The babies, young children, pets and wildlife of South Bank will continue to have their hearing and their nervous systems shattered by grossly supercharged fireworks.
But although a lifetime of suffering may result, and even though pets and wildlife will continue to be deafened or to die of fright, the actual damage will be inflicted before ten at night.
So that's all right, then.
