THIS stellar tribute to the American singer-songwriter, who died in 2003, is a second goodbye, Zevon himself having made his farewells in The Wind, released shortly after his death.
Bruce Springsteen steals the show with a stirring take on My Ride's Here, Steve Earle enfolds Reconsider Me in his own warm and rough embrace, while Adam Sandler does a perfectly creditable Werewolves Of London. Bob Dylan is in here too, lending an affecting croak to Mutineer, while Don Henley gets matters rolling with a rocking Searching For A Heart. Lovely fragility is left to Jill Sobule, who whispers through Don't Let Us Get Sick. Keep Me In Your Heart, a moving hymn to passing and memory, performed by Jorge Calderon and Jennifer Warnes, wraps matters up eloquently.
