THERE has been much discussion about the re-opening of the old railway line which used to connect York and Pocklington.
I fully support the idea.
My partner has been commuting to Pocklington for some time. In recent years she tells me enormous tailbacks of traffic approaching York in the morning and leaving York in the evening are becoming more frequent.
I also understand that in the last 20 years there have been 80 fatal accidents on the same road.
My partner would much prefer to use the train than risk driving. I am convinced many more people would consider summer day trips to Beverley and Bridlington if the train were an option.
Politicians are often criticised for being short sighted.
This is an ideal chance to disprove such criticisms.
I urge all your readers to support the project and for the Evening Press to get on board too.
Paul Webster,
Bramble Dene,
