ALBEIT a friendly, the way the York City Knights played against Doncaster on Sunday certainly bodes well for the forthcoming season.
Yet another bumper crowd were treated to a great show of skill from a newly assembled York side, and to go in at half time 28-0 up against a team from the league above their own was a real achievement.
The players did very well to control themselves in the second half when Doncaster's tactics threatened to ruin the game. The York players seemed to manage to rise above it and stick to what they do best, playing good flowing rugby.
What is happening on the pitch shows the great work being done by the coaching team at the Knights. Mick Cook and his team certainly seem to be doing a fantastic job, and long may it continue.
Here's to another exciting season at Huntington Stadium, and let's hope they can go one step further this year than last.
