A GOVERNMENT minister visited a York school as part of an effort to promote enterprise and trade skills in the area.
John Healey, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, met staff and students at the Archbishop of York CE Junior School, in Bishopthorpe, where the primary school pupils are undertaking an Enterprise In Action project, in conjunction with the York branch of Marks & Spencer.
Head teacher Yvonne Wilson said: "The school has been involved in a variety of projects in partnership with local businesses.
"This year the students are involved with making a school calendar and it involves all of the school, which is a really exciting opportunity."
In the past, students have worked together to create a range of different products, including the school website.
Speaking of the Ministerial visit, she said: "A group of children spoke to him and showed him the website; he took a great interest in what the children were doing."
