NORTH Yorkshire police were today investigating after the bodies of two people were found in a village between Pickering and Scarborough.
Officers confirmed today that they had been called to look into the deaths after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at Wykeham.
A police spokesman said they were treating the deaths of the man and woman as suspicious.
But the spokesman stressed the force did not believe that a third person was involved in the tragedy.
The bodies were found at a house in the village, which is situated on the A170, at 9.24pm yesterday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said of the incident: "Police suspect that a third party is not involved, but further detailed inquiries are being made."
