PORSCHE has launched new models for this year's line-up.

The Boxster (pictured here) is on sale now and both its 2.7-litre and 3.2-litre flat six engines have been given a power boost designed to keep the mid-engined sports car at the top of its class.

The 2.7-litre six-cylinder engine now develops 240bhp, that is 12bhp more than previously. The performance of the Boxster S, which is launched simultaneously, has also been increased to 280bhp from 260bhp, while cubic capacity has remained unchanged at 3.2-litres. The Boxster is priced at £32,320 and the Boxster S at £38,720.

The latest generation Type 997 builds on the strengths of the 911 model line to move the evolution of the iconic sports coupe on another stage. The long-established design cues that have made the 911 instantly recognisable the world over are as shapely as ever, and changes under the skin are meant to increase efficiency, safety and to also provide greater levels of driving enjoyment.

Two models are available; the 325bhp Carrera, with a 3.6-litre flat-six engine, priced at £58,380; and the 35bhp Carrera S, which features a 3.8-litre flat-six engine, and is priced at £65,000.
