MARTIN Waddington gamed in a superb 14 darts and then added a 115 finish for 18 in Clifton's York Cygnet Open Darts League division one match with Huntington SC 'B'.
Well-backed by Martyn Turner (180 for 19) and Roger Short (180 for 17), Clifton demolished the club side, who had good darts from Pip Hair (21) and Keith Elliott (20).
Turner also capped off a fine performance with another maximum in the pairs.
Volunteer opened up a nine-point lead at the top after Paul Dixon (17), Mike Harris (19) and Mark Fratson (22 and 23) gave them an 8-1 victory at Pack, whose Dick Willoughby (23) saved the whitewash. Paul Mizon also did well for Pack with 21.
Mitre moved up into second place after Rich Corner (18 and 23), Kev O'Hara (20 and 21), Allan Galley (180 for 20) and John Quantock (20) gave them an 8-1 result at Howden Arms, whose Mick Campbell included a 180 for 17.
John Smith hit 180 and 20 before combining with Phil Good to seal the win for Huntington WMC against Greyhound, who had good darts from Stu Limbert (18), Dave Bath (22) and Mark Blundell (22 and 23). Jim Wallis closed on 20 for Huntington.
In division two, Crescent 'A' had Paul Helm-Mark Thornton clinching the last game win against Cygnet, while Leeman saved the aggregate point after losing at Reindeer.
A 23-darter from Dave Dalton inspired Woolpack to an 8-2 win against Yearsley, while Harry Watson-Dave Welch were Huntington 'A' team's match-winners over Victoria Vaults. Al Johnson gamed in 23 for the club side.
Edinburgh beat Crown, who took the aggregate with Martin Pears (21) and John White (22) playing well.
York Cygnet Open League teams are reminded that points will be lost if result sheets are submitted late.
John Mooring finished in a super 17 darts in York John Smith's Men's League division one.
Dave Gibbons added an 18-darter and Neil Caywood 20 as Cygnet 'A' won 5-4 against their 'B' team, whose Derek Hartley gamed in 20 and hit a 147 finish in the pairs.
Lee Brundrett (20), Keith Turner (180) and Mark Hartley-Steve Evans gave Poacher the edge in a 5-4 win over Crescent.
Mick Willsden starred as Shepherd 'A' beat Swan 5-4, while Mick Addinall-Paul Fearn were the match-winners as Rose & Crown scored a 6-3 win at Britannia.
Gary Scott-Dave Endeacott won the decider for Cueball against division two leaders Flag 'B' who, with a good win from Pete Cox, saved the aggregate by just seven.
Mick Brookes (19), Pete West (180) and match-winners Brookes-Derrick Hudson helped give Holgate the points in a close game with Green Tree.
Paul Calpin (19 and a 180) and a 108 finish from Steve Foster help seal a 7-2 win for Flag 'A' over Derwent Arms and Pete Ella-Ted Bone were the match-winners as Slip Inn won 6-3 at Groves.
Pete Turnbull (21) helped division three leaders Golden Slipper to a 6-3 win over Bootham Tavern.
Six tons and over from John Pickering inspired Mitre to a 6-3 result against Shepherd 'B'.
Paul Mason-Nev Richardson were the match-winners for Fox Inn at Saddle, who saved the extra point thanks to a good last-game win from Addie Gray-Colin Johnson.
Nigel Mapplebeck was outstanding as Old Ebor whitewashed Sun 'B'.
