I SEE from the Evening Press that an organisation called Baywatch is to campaign to stop the abuse of parking bays set aside for disabled people.
This is an excellent idea. The abuse of disabled parking bays, usually by people about a third of my age, is rampant, but there is also an abuse of parking facilities at supermarkets and large shopping centres.
This is the use of the "pick-up" bay as a car park. I see this nearly every time I visit my local supermarkets. I know taxis may have to wait there, but nobody else.
As I pass them, having dragged my ageing carcass across the car park, I mutter SIB. The S stands for selfish, the I for inconsiderate and you can guess what B stands for.
