WHAT do you get if you cross a grand piano and some half-decent soaring melodies? Answer: the new Coldplay.
The crop of bands jumping on the back of their success shows no signs of abating, particularly after Keane's success. This debut by Cornish four-piece Thirteen Senses may become the latest present of choice for wives and girlfriends. They will love the voice of frontman Will South, who is also the chief ivory-tinkler.
The songs are well constructed and Into The Fire, Thru The Glass and Do No Wrong are made for mainstream radio. It is no surprise that co-producer Danton Supple has previously worked with Chris Martin's mob. However, Thirteen Senses' appearance at Fibbers was unremarkable and too many tracks are bland.
