CATS Protection, the UK's largest feline welfare charity - which has a shelter in Huntington covering the York area - and Felix, the pet food brand, have teamed up to improve the lives of cats.
The partnership aims to raise awareness of the charity and educate the public about responsible cat ownership in the UK.
This year will see a programme of support by Felix for Cats Protection, including the launch of an on-pack fundraising promotion that aims to generate more than £100,000 for cats in care.
Other facets include free merchandise, sponsored educational literature and support for the charity's magazine, The Cat, via advertising and sponsorship.
The partnership represents a six-figure investment by pet care company Nestl Purina, which owns the Felix brand.
