I AM looking for volunteers to join my RNIB team in Yorkshire and Humberside.
Every day more than 100 people begin losing their sight. The Royal National Institute Of The Blind (RNIB) helps to rebuild lives devastated by sight loss by providing more than 60 services for people who are blind or visually impaired.
Many roles for volunteers are available. We need people to collect in local supermarkets and count and bank the money.
We also seek people interested in organising ad-hoc fundraising events relating to things they may already be involved in, from charity golf days, coffee mornings to activities at their local school or church group. Our funding comes from public donations including our famous Sooty boxes, which many readers may have seen in shops, restaurants and pubs.
I am also looking for volunteers to become local box collectors .
If you can offer a few hours a month to undertake this rewarding work, contact me on 01423 819753, or you may email me at scott.wall@rnib.org.uk
