ON-LOAN defender Jon Maloney has been officially credited for York City's first goal at Stevenage on Saturday.

It was initially thought that Paul Robinson netted the opener to fire City into a half-time lead, but the club have now confirmed it was Maloney who got the last touch to score his first goal for the club in only his second appearance for the Minstermen.

Andy Bishop hammered a 25-yard free kick on to the bar after 24 minutes and in the goal-mouth melee that ensued it was Maloney - and not Robinson - who reacted quickest.

City captain Steve Davis will make his first appearance since September tonight for the reserves against Lincoln City alongside several first team names.

Davis has been out of action with a serious hip injury for several months but will take the field for around 20 minutes after making good progress in training last week.

Seven other first teamers will also be in action desperate to claw their way back into contention for the Conference side.

David Stockdale will be in goal in front of defenders Graeme Law and Sean Davies. Bryan Stewart and Lev Yalcin will be the source of the attacking options with Lee Nogan and Paul D Robinson, who missed Saturday's match at Stevenage after strong winds in the North East meant he could not reach the team's Ferrybridge meeting point in time.

City's youth team had no fixture on Saturday but we will be back in action this weekend.
