Pocklington took advantage of the inactivity of their nearest rivals to move up to second place in the Yorkshire 2 table thanks to a 23-9 home win over bottom club Scarborough.
There were lots of locsl games called off and the Pocklington crowd was boosted by contingents from several other clubs.
With the wind Scarborough opened the scoring with a penalty on the quarter hour from Kiwi ace Marcus Edwards that hit the upright and bounced in.
But Pocklington replied with a trademark try in the 28th minute, kicking a penalty to the corner for flanker Scott Littlefair to finish off a line-out catch and drive.
Edwards put Scarborough back in front by a point with his second penalty, but Pocklington finished the first half strongly and after another forward drive had been stopped five yards short Littlefair spotted the blind-side unguarded and dived over in the corner to give his side a 10-6 interval lead.
Pocklington always looked the more accomplished side, but Scarborough produced determined, if limited, opposition, and with the second half frequently punctuated by minor injuries the play was never able to flow.
Kevin Bowling extended Pocklington's lead with a penalty but the home side had to be patient before displaying their three-quarter advantage.
A good attack to the left almost broke through before slick handling right saw wing Tim Nixon power over out wide.
In a rare Scarborough visit to Pocklington's half Edwards pulled three points back with a 37-yard goal into the wind, but Pocklington had the final word and crossed for their third try in the gloomy final minute.
Once again they kicked a penalty to within close range and their pack produced another unstoppable maul with this time replacement back row Paul Rhodes claiming the score.
