THE management and staff of the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, would like to express their sincere thanks to Full Sutton Flying Club for flying Santa to the museum for our annual Santa's Plane events, held in the run-up to the festive season.
I am sure the hundreds of children and their parents and grandparents who attended will also join me in this.
Once again, the fly-pasts were conducted bang on schedule, with the aircraft circling overhead to the mounting excitement of the children.
All of us on the ground were aware that the weather conditions on a couple of the days were, to say the least, unfavourable, with very strong, gusting winds.
The airmanship shown by Simon Pocklington and, in particular, Cass Smith, was without question remarkable and we salute your skills.
Thanks must also go to Mike Usherwood, museum volunteer and Full Sutton Flying Club member, who co-ordinated the flying activities.
We would like to extend our best wishes for the New Year to all those who attended and supported the events and hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.
Santa also sends his greetings and hopes he will be able to commandeer the services of Full Sutton Flying Club for his return at Christmas.
Ian Richardson,
PR Manager,
Yorkshire Air Museum,
Elvington, York.
