FOLLOWING the latest outburst by Viv Busby against the younger players following the dire game against Burton Albion, one has to consider whether the threat of the dole is directed against the right people?

While admitting that some of the younger players are not yet ready and lacking in confidence due to poor results, an increasingly hostile crowd and verbals from Busby, most of the City crowd demand that the current managerial staff look closer to home.

I disagree that this is the worst bunch of players to don the City strip, I do feel, however, that it is possibly the worst coached and prepared team since the bad old days of Charlie Wright, Colin Meldrum and Bobby Saxton.

How Paul Groves can consisitently be praised for turning in lacklustre performances is beyond belief.

Lee Grant in his first couple of games looked a class act yet he has been brought down to the current level.

Lev Yalcin is not played in the advanced midfield role he should be given an opportunity in and looks destined to leave if things continue. I suspect he may be one to come back and haunt us in the future.

The current team lacks direction and ideas, we have bright, nippy forwards who lack any useful ball to feet and the team as a whole rarely start to play until the game has passed them by.

I have some questions for the board:

Who is picking the team - is it the much rumoured committee of old boys?

Why are some players considered untouchable from criticism or being dropped?

Why do we appear to have a knack of killing the confidence and ambition of young players by publicly criticising them or not giving them sufficient chance to prove that they have chance to improve upon what they watch every week?

Time for a major change... and start at the top.
