On behalf of Carecent I pass on our appreciation of the gifts recently received from various groups and individuals.
Although we know the sources of some, many were anonymous so this is the only way we can thank them.
With the items received it was possible to give a present, such as a new scarf, warm hat, gloves or socks, to all who attended at Christmas time.
Festive food was also given to supplement the basic breakfast served throughout the year.
Christmas is a time of emotional upheaval for our visitors. Nearly all our breakfasters are single and in occasional accommodation, so not for them a family gathering to exchange gifts.
For them to receive a donated card or present from an unknown, concerned person is of tremendous worth. It is a tangible expression of a good wish at a time they feel isolated and divided from a family unit.
