Selby will have to put aside thoughts of reaching the quarter-finals of the Intermediate Cup as they look to accumulate much needed league points in 2005.

The club will forget about its massive away clash with South Leicester next week and concentrate on a tough looking game at Old Crossleyans in Yorkshire One.

Without a win in their last six league matches, Saturday's match has become something of a crunch tie for Selby.

Apart from at stand-off, Selby's first league encounter of the New Year sees it able to field a first choice back division.

Tony Pemberton coming in for the unavailable Mike Cawthorn is the only change in the skill positions while, in the forwards, Jamie Pocklington fills the No 8 spot with Paul Randell retaining his place at flanker - Duncan Phillips starts on the bench.

In the front row captain Andrew Pocklington is back after missing the last two games with a knee injury and is joined by first choice hooker Shane Sellers and prop Paul Gabel.

Wright Phillips and Jason Cicero fill the second row places with Richard Nicholson the other flanker. Mark Tomlinson, prop replacement and Martin Bramley join Duncan Phillips on the bench.

Meanwhile, York RI will be looking to consolidate their mid-table position in Yorkshire Three with victory at Northallerton.

RI beat Northallerton comfortably just before Christmas but club spokesman Nigel Lowery said the club was a much tougher proposition on its own patch.

He said York RI would hopefully be travelling north with a full strength side as they look to begin 2005 with a win.

While promotion may be beyond them, RI have no relegation worries either and Lowery said a top four finish was not impossible.
