WHAT Not To Wear may be the title of a popular TV programme - but it would also seem to be a motto for what women do with the clothes they buy, according to a survey.

York women will spend £88,156 on clothes during their lifetime, but most of their buys stay in the wardrobe.

The fashion maths breaks down to £113 a month on clothes. This amount will alarm many husbands and partners - and leave many women enviously wondering how anyone can afford to spend that much.

As for another finding, do women really hide what they buy from their partners?

Over to you.
