THIS album, their second, establishes Croft No. Five as one of Scotland's hottest young roots-fusion outfits.
Comprised almost entirely of original material, the album opens with the sultry, Oriental-tinged Elephant and closes with the beautifully cool Passing Train. In between, drum 'n' bass meets slinky Mediterranean caf sounds plus rock-guitar riffs and incendiary Balkan tunes. The tight ensemble playing features accordion, guitar, keyboards, percussion and bass to combine rural tradition with modern urban buzz.
