IN answer to A Dobinson ("Blame litterbugs", December 30), yes we know whose fault it is; and I know whose fault it isn't too - mine.
Why should I fork out more money to fund a litter warden, who would have no effect on the ignoramuses who throw the litter about? I pay enough in council tax, as does everyone else.
If people won't change their ways and put litter in the bins, the only solution is to deprive them of the litter in the first place.
It wouldn't be so bad if McDonald's and others made bio-degradable packaging, but they don't; its polystyrene containers last for an eternity.
Maybe the council in York could increase parking charges further to fund a litter warden?
