I appreciate that we need as many car parking spaces as possible so I wonder if this is why the "marked out spaces" in the Castle car park are so small.

I own a small car so I have no problems parking it in the spaces provided. I have, however, seen that people with slightly larger cars have experienced difficulty trying to fit their cars into the spaces.

I parked my car on New Year's Eve in the Castle car park while we attended the marvellous pantomime at York Theatre Royal. It fitted well within the boundaries of the allocated space. There was even a vacant space next to my car when I left it.

When we returned, it was dark, and I noticed that a large car had somehow managed to get into the vacant space. It was quite close to the passenger side of my car.

On New Year's Day, I discovered a large scrape on the front offside of my car.

I can only conclude that the driver of the large car had caused the damage as he/she manoeuvred their car into the narrow space. I wonder how many of your readers have had similar experiences in the Castle car park?
