IT was with dismay that I viewed this year's Christmas tree in St Helen's Square, York.
With its bare branches, wilted greenery around the base and sheer commercialism it conveys none of the Christmas spirit. I hope it will be replaced with a tree in keeping with the rest of the seasonal decorations and the usual high standard of York Christmas trees.
