BOB Gorrill has been appointed as York City's sales and marketing executive.
Gorrill has previous selling experience with Sheffield Wednesday, Northampton Town, Oldham Athletic and Scarborough.
His main responsibilities will be to increase sales revenue and assist with general administrative work.
He will also help with editing the matchday programme.
An immediate effect of the appointment is extended opening times for the club shop to maximise the Christmas trade.
Commenting on the appointment managing director, Jason McGill said: "We are pleased to welcome Bob Gorrill to the Club and look forward to working with him to increase sales revenue.
"He will be a great addition to the team and will help to assist the administrative staff during what has been a busy and difficult time."
Gorrill said: "I am looking forward to this new challenge at York City and hope to meet as many supporters and sponsors as possible over the coming weeks."
Gorrill will be operating from the club shop and can be contacted on 0870 7771922, extension four.
The club shop will be closed over the Christmas period from 5pm on Thursday, December 23 to 9am on Wednesday, December 29.
