IN response to the letter from Barbara Strangeway (December 5), we, too, were told that our free bus to Asda from Osbaldwick was to be axed after Christmas.
Most passengers are senior citizens, who do not have access to private transport, so carrying heavy shopping any distance is not an option.
There are, on average, 20 passengers each week, and although Asda may think what we spend is only a "drop in the ocean", all those "drops" add up. What has happened to customer service?
I am afraid Asda will lose many customers over this short-sighted action.
Please don't axe our shopping lifeline.
