Potter's points

Man of the match Dave Magson, who combined superbly at half back with Potter, also got on the scoresheet along with Oliver Hare, Thomas Wadsworth and Billy Clint. The impressive performance sets Acorn up for the weekend's top two clash with Hunslet Parkside.

Acorn's Under-12s enjoyed a brilliant 36-7 victory over Kippax thanks to tries by James Leaf (2), Sam Orange (2), Jamie Stuart, Ed Smith, Ryan Hamilton and man of the match Ed Smith. Hannigan, Orange and Brown kicked goals.

Acorn let it slip

YORK Acorn ARL Club's U13s turn in their best Yorkshire Junior League division one performance of the season only to be beaten 20-10 by East Leeds.

Acorn defended resolutely for the majority of the game and led 10-0 at the interval after tries by Tyler Dawson and Josh Peacock with an Antony Chilton goal.

But as Acorn looked on course for their first win of the season, East Leeds ran in four tries in the second period to snatch victory.

Outstanding for Acorn were Josh Peacock, Mike Kellett, Josh Mortimer, James Mountford, Liam Wilkinson, Stuart Leeke and man-of-the-match Dawson.
