YEARSLEY Swimming Pool reopened today, almost a month after it closed for a revamp.
City of York Council said that broken-down fans in the roof had now been fixed, restoring proper ventilation to the baths.
Swimmers have been unable to use the pool, near Nestle Rowntree's factory, since November 8, when a failure in the dilapidated heating system forced its closure.
Following the closure earlier this year of the Barbican Pool, that left swimmers with just one municipal pool in the city - the Edmund Wilson Baths in Acomb.
Experts subsequently raised concerns about the safety of Yearsley's roof, which had suffered from condensation problems caused by poor ventilation - which itself had been caused by the failure of the fans.
While the heating system and fans have now been repaired, some problems remain with the roof and repairs will be needed at a later date, which are expected to result in another week-long closure.
