'Mobile madness' (Evening Press, December 3) reports on five motorists and one cyclist spotted in Low Ousegate using mobile phones, however the pictures show only five motorists.

The editorial comment on page 14 only mentions five motorists and no mention of the cyclist. Could this be the same cyclist who, the previous week when spotted riding the wrong way down a city centre street, using a mobile and showing no lights was only given a verbal warning by the police?

North Yorkshire Police have issued 571 fixed penalty tickets since the law was introduced, I wonder how many of these were cyclists? None I suspect.

The police are out for an easy "cop" and catch the motorist every time because there is too much paperwork connected to a cycling prosecution.
