Curtis Cup revenge will be put on ice for Malton and Norton's first lady Emma Duggleby - but it will prey at the back of her mind throughout next season.
The 33-year-old golfer has become an ever-present in the amateur Great Britain and Ireland team in their three most recent battles with their trans-Atlantic rivals. But she has yet to come away on the winning side - and Duggleby is determined to put that right.
However, with the next championships not scheduled until 2006, next year will be all about concentrating on the other international circuit - with an added incentive that a good season will keep her at the forefront of the selectors' minds.
She said: "I have played in three now and, although I have got quite a good personal record, the team has not always done as well so it would be great to turn that round.
"We have already had one Great Britain and Ireland coaching session and we have a warm weather week in Portugal coming up in March where we will be looking to work on our short game and technique."
The early indications are that it will be another busy programme next year with the domestic competitions as well as several international tournaments to look forward to.
Said Duggleby: "We are actually just planning out the schedule for next season now. There is a tournament in May that will be working towards the European team championships.
"And there is also the Vagliano Trophy to come in Paris as well where the Great Britain and Ireland team takes on a team from the European tour. We won that last year in Ireland so we are really keen to win it back this time round.
"The main thing will be to keep performing so I can be in with a shout for the next Curtis Cup team because that really is my main aim.
"Between now and then, I will be playing enough to keep my game going and then start stepping up the coaching in February or March time."
