AN ANIMAL-loving husband and wife are hoping to reunite a lost cat with its owner in time for Christmas.
James and Liz Wattrus, of Main Street, Amotherby, near Malton, are members of the Cats Protection charity and have fostered around 250 cats and kittens.
Presently, they have a mature adult tortoiseshell female who was spotted astray in Kirkbymoorside for several months before being brought into their care with a nasty skin infection around her head.
Mr Wattrus said vets believed she had either been caught in a snare and escaped or had got her head stuck in a opened food tin. The cuts she suffered caused an irritating infection which she has scratched and made worse.
With medicine and cream the condition has improved.
They also have a very domesticated long-haired ginger male cat, which has been neutered, that was found straying on Middlecave Road, Malton. For further information, phone 01653 697918.
