I WRITE in relation to the revenue-raising scheme otherwise known as ResPark (November 25).
As a resident involved in the ballot who voted against, I am very disappointed that these traffic regulations are going to be introduced in my area.
If this were truly an attempt to curtail commuter traffic, the restrictions would only be in force, as in other Northern cities, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
Also visitor parking should be a minimum one hour, if only to have enough time to offer a guest a cup of tea.
I am not surprised Ann Reid is delighted with the scheme, as it will be bringing in a lot of money for City of York Council.
I feel after paying Council Tax of £951.81, which I am sure will yet again be increased considerably next year, that residents should be issued with one parking permit free of charge.
This is another way to tax residents, dressed up to make it seem in our best interests.
