Stormy Lord, who came to grief on his return to action last month, can get back on top at Market Rasen tomorrow.
Trained near Sedgefield by John Wade, the eight-year-old goes for the Oerlemans Novices' Handicap Chase with Brian Harding in the saddle.
Formerly a useful handicap hurdler, Stormy Lord then succumbed to a leg problem and spent 20 months on the sidelines before reappearing over fences at Ayr recently. Still in the front rank, he fell at the third-last in the race won by Vandas Choice, who has rattled up a hat-trick of wins.
None the worse for that tumble, Stormy Lord appeals as the type to do well over fences and, to his credit, his jumping at Ayr was solid enough overall. He promises to take plenty of beating.
Shannon's Pride, another of Harding's mounts and a recent winner at Ayr, can defy top-weight in the Bruce And Joe Carr Memorial Trophy Handicap Chase.
Nicky Richards' gelding returned to the glory trail with a decisive victory in Scotland four weeks ago, when he cruised home with seven lengths to spare.
There is surely more to come from Shannon's Pride, who comes from a stable in cracking form. He is awarded the nap vote.
Honest Endeavour, winner of both his races this season, can make a bold bid for hat-trick honours in the Racing On UK Channel 432 Novices' Hurdle.
A double penalty gives Malcolm Jefferson's charge a tough task, but he is improving all the time and looks a decent prospect in the making. Fergus King again has the mount.
At Wincanton, Patches makes his debut over fences in the Guinness Beginners' Chase.
Paul Nicholls' gelding has won his last two races over hurdles and looks a useful recruit to the novice chase ranks. With the brilliant Ruby Walsh in the saddle, he will be hard to beat.
Dominican Monk is fancied to have the firepower to lift the Toteexacta Handicap Hurdle over two miles.
Colin Tinkler's five-year-old is nothing if not consistent and has surrounded his solitary win this season with a sequence of seconds. Overdue another winning turn, he may find opportunity knocking here.
