ROSEDALE moved up into second place of the Beckett League first division after beating Heslerton 3-1 at home.
Heslerton took the lead after four minutes when Curtis Drummond scored. Two minutes later Rosedale equalised but it was Heslerton's Mark Featherstone who scored an own goal - a fine header.
In the second half Rosedale did much better with young Jonathan Seller replacing the injured Matthew Farrow. Richard Wilkinson scored to put Rosedale ahead after 56 minutes. Adam Burkinshaw completed the scoring after 75 minutes.
In the second division, Ampleforth moved up into fourth place leap-frogging Bagby and Balk who they beat 5-1 at Coxwold - Bagby and Balk's new home.
Richard Chilton put Ampleforth into a first half lead before debutant Nick Graham equalised.
Ampleforth got well on top in the second half through goals by Colin Casey, Ben Wall (2) and Matt Petch.
In the Ryedale Hospital Cup, Black Swan Pickering beat first division leaders and hosts Thornton-le-Dale 4-3 in a well contested tie.
Black Swan took the lead after 17 minutes when Christian Walton scored, only for Kirkdale to get a deserved equaliser when a corner taken by Ian Prendergast was headed into the goal by the unmarked Mark Langdale.
Uhi Ehima put Kirkdale ahead - a well deserved goal for the promising youngster after 64 minutes. Black Swan equalised after 71 minutes when 16-year-old substitute Matty Smith put through Simon Dale. A minute later Black Swan's Paul Mann was brought down by Langdale and Mann scored the penalty.
Kirkdale United equalised after 81 minutes when Philip Charlton's penalty was saved by Dave Sturgess. Charlton followed up and scored at the second attempt.
Black Swan regained the lead after 84 minutes when a long throw by Marc Dobson found Adrian Voicu who scored with a simple tap-in against his former club. Still, the drama was not finished as Kirkdale were awarded another penalty when Dobson handled the ball. Charlton took the penalty kick but Sturgess saved it to win the game for Black Swan.
Duncombe Park beat ten-man Coxwold 4-0.
Rob Koworske scored the only goal in the first half. In the second half supremacy was reflected by goals from Lee Otterburn (2) and Jeremy Richardson.
