YORK City caretaker boss Viv Busby will ask Tranmere Rovers if he can extend striker Paul Robinson's trial at Bootham Crescent.
Robinson, 20, joined teenage strike partner Robbie Haw on the scoresheet in last night's 2-0 reserve victory over Grimsby Town and the acting manager said: "He played better last night and I think he was short of a few games before. He got stronger as the game went on and I would like to have another look at him.
"He will train with us tomorrow and then I will have a chat with Brian Little and see what Paul is thinking. I would like to see if we can take him for another couple of games because he had a tidy match and worked hard. He got hold of the ball well and is a good footballer."
Busby also stressed that City would be taking the FA Trophy serious this season after yesterday's third round draw resulted in a trip to Conference rivals Burton Albion on January 15.
He said: "It's not the draw we would have wanted but we've been there already and played well and you have to take whatever you get. In any cup competition you have got to try to get as far as you can."
