WITH reference to Charles Hunt's letter (November 25), for years I have been involved with the Christmas Shoebox Appeal through 'Operation Christmas Child' and all I have experienced has been happiness.
It has been a real joy to see pleasure on the children's faces when they have handed their Christmas box in at the collection point. These gifts go to children of all faiths and none.
I have also seen a video of the children receiving the gifts overseas, their faces have been unbelievable, such happiness. What a wonderful experience for each child who would probably not receive any other gift.
Please Mr Hunt, don't throw a wet blanket on people endeavouring to show love and kindness.
