AN ELDERLY man and CCTV operators got an eyeful when Alan Brown visited New Earswick shopping area, York Magistrates Court heard.

The 25-year-old man was wearing his trousers and pants round his ankles, Robert Galley, prosecuting, said.

Brown, of Sycamore Place, New Earswick, pleaded guilty to being drunk in public near the junction of Limetree Avenue and Hawthorne Terrace Centre.

He was conditionally discharged for six months after his solicitor, Sandra Keen, revealed that he had no money and had been barred from getting benefits until next year.

Mrs Keen said that Brown had been so drunk that he could not remember anything of the incident.
