Like Mr Rubinstein (Letters, November 23), I'm sick of seeing cars (and cycles, speaking as a keen cyclist) in the footstreets.
However, let's not give up!
The law has just been changed to allow traffic wardens to deal with moving traffic offences - but only where councils specifically apply for these powers.
Currently, only the police can deal with moving offences, and you can see why this is hardly a priority given some of the other stories you report.
I have asked City of York Council but, apparently, it is yet to be discussed.
Perhaps a bit of public discussion would speed things up?
