The Levellers reinvigorated the music scene in the 1990's. Inspiring songs such as One Way and albums like Levelling The Land and Zeitgeist spawned a worldwide following.
In the years since, the band have continued to defy and surprise their critics with numerous hit songs and albums and sell-out tours all over the world.
For their winter tour, Mark, Simon, Jon, Jeremy, Charlie, Steven Boakes and new member Matt Savage are once again doing something which has never been done before - selling live recordings of each night's show as a double CD just minutes after the performance finishes.
A bit of a gimmick perhaps - but a great way to remember a gig for all that. And hopefully, there should be plenty to remember about The Leveller's Grand Opera House date on Monday. The band will be reprising plenty of old favourites from their back catalogue - but some new work from their eagerly anticipated new album will also get an airing. Not one to miss.
Levellers Acoustic, with support from Dan Donnelly, Grand Opera House, York, 7.30pm Monday. Tickets £16.50 from the Box Office on 0870 606 3595.
